Glück oder Pech? Good Luck or Bad Luck?
Wir haben in den letzten Jahren unser Hobby und den Kallista sehr vernachlässigt. Durch private Umstände hat der Panther vorletztes Jahr nur eine Tankfüllung verbraucht, im letzten Jahr (2021) bin ich nur 50 km gefahren. Der Bremszylinder ist undicht geworden und dadurch hatte ich auch keine
H-kennzeichen Abnahme machen lassen. In diesem Jahr bin ich voller Elan gestartet. Einmal den Kallista auf Vordermann bringen, d.h.: Neues Kupplungsseil, Bremsen komplett hinten, Benzin- und Bremsleitungen erneuern, Differenzial-Öl wechseln etc, etc..
Ich hatte meine Garage aufgeräumt, damit der TÜV-Prüfer noch eine Vorab-Kontrolle durchführen kann. Parallel hatten wir Matratzen zum Sperrmüll rausgestellt. Da der Sperrmüll aber noch zwei Wochen dauert, wurden die Matratzen in die trockene Garage gestellt.
Was passiert – ich fahre den Kallista in die Garage und das Kupplungsseil reißt!
Aus Gewohnheit stand ich voll auf der Bremse, aber der Panther machte einen Schuss nach vorne.
Er fuhr gegen die Matratzen und diese haben mich gerettet. Ich denke also – sehr viel Glück.
Kallista ok, Garagenboden muss neu. Kupplungsseil ist getauscht und wir werden jetzt 4 Tage den Panther fit machen. Nachdem ich das H-Kennzeichen bekommen habe, werde ich eine Servolenkung einbauen.
In the last years, we have neglected our hobby and the Kallista very much. Due to private circumstances we used only one tank of gas on the Panther in the year before last and we drove only 50 km in the last year. The brake cylinder leaked and because of that I did not have an history-plate inspection done. This year I started full of verve to bring the Kallista up to speed, i. e. new clutch cable, new brakes completely in the rear, renew fuel and brake lines, change differential oil etc.
I had tidied up my garage so that the TÜV inspector could do another pre-inspection. At the same time, we had put mattresses out for bulky waste, however, it was still to take two weeks until it was picked up. Thus, we put them in the garage to keep them dry and out of the way.
And then, what happened? I drove the Kallista into the garage and the clutch cable broke!
Out of habit, I was fully on the brakes, the Panther made a shot forward while facing towards the wall of the garage.
Luckily, the Kallista hit the mattresses. They saved me and prevented damage that could have been a lot worse. So, I think I was very lucky.
The Kallista is okay, only the garage floor needs to be renewed. The clutch cable is replaced, and we will now spend 4 days getting the Panther fit again. And then, after I get the history license plate (after 30 years old and new MOT), I will install power steering. I look forward to driving the Panther again – preferably while staying on the lucky side.
